The story
The D14 opened Allis-Chalmers' D series in 1957 and was a completely new design rather than an update of the old Model C it replaced. Power came from a new 149 cubic inch four-cylinder Power-Crater engine that could run on gasoline or LP gas, driving through a four-speed gearbox and transfer case for eight forward speeds.
Buyers could choose a narrow front, a single front wheel or the new adjustable Roll-Shift wide axle, and high-clearance and rice versions were also built. Production ended in 1960 after 17,474 had been made, and the D15 took its place.
