The story

Kubota built small tractors for decades before it moved into the larger European market. Its first M7 range arrived in 2014, two years after the Japanese firm bought the Norwegian implement maker Kverneland, and it was the biggest tractor Kubota had made.

The M7-173 belongs to the third generation, called M7003, introduced in 2019. Like its forerunners it used a four-cylinder 6.1-litre Kubota engine, which made 170 hp and gave a small boost on top, an unusually high output for a four-cylinder.

The M7003 met Stage V emissions rules and doubled the particulate filter cleaning interval to 6,000 hours. Production was in northern France.

In 2024 the M7004 range, with the M7-174, took its place.

Did you knowIts 6.1-litre four-cylinder engine has larger cylinders than many six-cylinder tractor engines.
