The story

The W series were standard-tread versions of International Harvester's Farmall letter-series row-crop tractors, sold under the McCormick-Deering name for farm and industrial work. They shared the Farmall styling and red paint but sat lower, with fixed wheel widths and a wide front axle.

The W-9 was built from 1940 to 1953 with a gasoline engine and a top speed of 16.3 mph. From 1956 the range joined IH's number system, the McCormick-Deering name was dropped, and the 660 eventually followed.
