The story
Case IH's long-wheelbase Puma first appeared in late 2007 with full powershift models, and stepless CVX versions followed in 2009. The range grew in steps as emissions rules tightened, and with the Stage IV update for the 2016 model year the CVX 240 became the largest Puma.
It uses a 6.7-litre FPT six-cylinder and gives 240 hp rated, with boost to 270 hp. Case IH now calls its stepless gearbox CVXDrive.
In December 2024 the firm made the Puma 240 the biggest model available with the PowerDrive full powershift as an alternative, and raised the CVXDrive version's gross weight to 15 tonnes. Pumas are built at St.
Valentin in Austria.
