The story
The 8011 was the first tractor of Zetor's second unified range, developed between 1964 and 1968 and launched in 1969 under the Crystal name in export markets. Its big selling point was the cab: an integrated, rubber-mounted flat-floor safety cab with a large one-piece windscreen and a passenger seat, and in 1972 a quieter version made it one of the first so-called Q-cab tractors.
Underneath sat a 4.56-litre four-cylinder diesel and a 16-speed gearbox with a powered splitter, plus power steering and air brakes. A four-wheel-drive 8045 followed in 1972 and six-cylinder models from 1974.
Ursus in Poland built a near twin, the C-385, and supplied axles and hydraulics for the range.
