The story
Allis-Chalmers launched the One-Ninety in 1964 while most of its D series was still on sale. Developed from the D19, it brought a new six-cylinder engine, a raised operator platform for a better view and a console grouping the lift and hydraulic controls.
The four-speed gearbox came from the D19, but the Power Director split every gear for eight speeds, changeable on the move. Diesel, petrol and LP gas versions were offered, though petrol and LP tractors were few.
The turbocharged One-Ninety XT followed and outperformed the larger D21 until that model got its own turbo. Factory cabs arrived in 1965.
The range was replaced by the Model 200 in 1972, with the plain diesel listed into 1973.
