The story
The 35 replaced the Ferguson TE20 in Britain and the TO30 in North America. Work on it began in 1953 under Hermann Klemm, and it reached American buyers in January 1955, with British production at Banner Lane, Coventry, following in 1956.
Early tractors were grey and badged Ferguson, but from 1957 they wore Massey Ferguson red and grey. The first British diesels used a four-cylinder Standard engine with a reputation for hard starting, and from 1959 a three-cylinder Perkins diesel took its place and proved far more popular.
Petrol and vaporising oil versions were also sold. The more powerful 35X came in 1962 with the optional Multi-Power system, and the 135 replaced the range in 1964.
No Massey Ferguson 35 listings yet. Dealers and private sellers will be able to list them here soon.
