J.I. Case tractors.
Jerome Increase Case started the business in Wisconsin in 1842 building small threshing machines, and moved it to Racine the following year. The firm grew into a major maker of steam engines, threshers and later tractors. Tenneco became the majority owner in 1967 and took full control in 1970. In 1984 Tenneco bought International Harvester's farm machinery division and merged it with Case, creating the Case IH brand, and in 1999 Case joined New Holland to form CNH Global.
